Uniquely Different through My Shades of Colors

Everyone struggles with their own identity every now and then. Finding one’s identity, their purpose in this world, may be considered an easy thing for some but it has been extremely hard for me to do. I used to struggle with finding things that make me different until someone told me to write down what makes me unique, a gift to this world. I was wracking my brain over and over for something incredibly special until I realized that I was OVER thinking the concept. I was overwhelmed with my thoughts until I began to dial it back starting with something small like my favorite colors and why.

I used to take for granted the magic and power of different colors that surrounded me. We can be so distracted with things around us that we forget to take a moment to appreciate what a blind person may covet as if we are the blind ones and not, they. I now know that I love it when a specific color palette pops out at me during the day and I’m left thinking about how I can obtain that kind of positive energy in my life before I go to bed. There are so many different shades of colors that I cannot begin to pick just one as my favorite. My collection of chosen colors expresses who I am, its my very own unique identity other than a card with a number on it assign to me at birth. Each color identifies to me personally in a specific way. Like shades of green brings me peace, comfort, and memories of my wonderful childhood in the country. Orange reminds me of my family, Sumter County fairs, and a delicious way the chill wind nips at my nose and cheeks. Red, I avoid! Even though it should remind me of the holidays, IT DOES NOT! It brings darker memories to the surface. And also, the different hues of nature enthralls me. With those examples, my beautiful bouquet of colors that I surround myself with is one of many things that makes me incredibly special. Knowing this piece of information helps fortify my confidence in me to put together the puzzle of my life. A puzzle that reminds me what I’m capable of accomplishing and who I am. It’s… my story!
